About the Lake
Lake Lashaway is a 293-acre warm water lake located in North and East Brookfield Massachusetts, north of Route 9. The water has a transparency of ten feet. The average depth is ten feet with a maximum of 18 feet.

ABOUT OUR HISTORY
In 1812, Jeduthan Stephens, a former LT. in the Revolutionary War and a prosperous local businessman, purchased the tract of several hundred acres and built the first dam of wooden tree trunks, caulked with tarred rope. Once the lake rose to a height of approximately 6 feet, water was diverted to provide power for various town industries, foundries, grist mills, local brick factories and running water for homes.
